Our Heritage

Glass's pioneered the analysis of used vehicle values in 1933 and has built up exceptional experience and expertise in this field. Almost 75 years on, Glass's Guide remains the trade's leading price guide for used vehicle valuations.

Every month, Glass's collates and analyses some 100,000 prices from a wide variety of sources the length and breadth of the country. These sources include auctions, franchised dealers, manufacturers, rental and leasing companies, the internet and newspapers and magazines.

Glass's team of Data Researchers take all of this raw data and assign each price observation to Glass's unique Vehicle Model Code, and then the Editors put their own experience and expertise to work, extrapolating the data, looking for trends and adding their own knowledge and understanding of the way the used vehicle market works.

The end result is a reliable and up-to-the-minute source of valuations that professionals can depend upon. That is why Glass's Guide is known as the motor trade's 'Bible'.

Glass’s has also developed a consumer valuation service to assist members of the public with understanding the values of their used vehicles. In 2003 Glass’s Motoring Guide made consumer valuation information directly available to the public. When offering a vehicle in part exchange to a dealership there are many factors that can affect the value of a vehicle and Glass’s Motoring Guide offers a realistic starting point for such transactions.
