Chrysler

Chrysler was founded in 1925 by Walter Chrysler. In recent years, Chrysler was part of the Daimler-Benz organisation, before being acquired by a US based private equity company in 2007. The Chrysler company has three marques within its stable - Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler.
Until the 1960s, Chrysler was essentially a US based organisation, until it bought a majority stake into the UK’s Rootes Group as well as Simca and Barreiros, to form Chrysler Europe. This division was disbanded by the early 1980s and assets sold to a number of european manufacturers.
In the early 1990s, Chrysler made its first steps back into Europe, setting up car production in Austria, and beginning right hand drive manufacture of certain Jeep models in a 1993 return to the UK market.
Popular models in from the last decade include the Chrysler Neon, the Chrysler Voyager and Grand Voyager, the Chrysler PT Cruiser, the Chrysler Crossfire and the Chrysler 300C. Other models sold in small numbers include the Chrysler Sebring convertible.
