Over supply of Aygo means 107 out-performs it in used car market

At this end of the market, Peugeot out-performs Toyota and commands a price premium

Despite costing more to buy from new, the residual values of used Toyota Aygos currently lag behind those of the mechanically identical Peugeot 107. This is all the more noteworthy as the residuals of a small Toyota would typically be expected to outperform - albeit modestly - those of a comparable Peugeot.

The reason for this apparent residual value anomaly comes down to the relative balance of supply and demand. The Toyota Aygo has outsold the Peugeot 107 when new, and this has inevitably led to greater availability of the Japanese car within the used car market.

With comparatively fewer 107s around, used prices for the Peugeot come under less pressure, and the price premium over a similarly specified Aygo can now be as much as £250.
