Mercedes-Benz CLC - Styling & specification enhancements add to appeal

Forthcoming new small coupe to compliment exisitng range, and with keen pricing and sharper looks it should be a better used proposition than the model it replaces

Positioned as a brand-new compact coupe, the Mercedes-Benz CLC will not be priced higher than the C-Class Sport Coupe it replaces, thus boosting residual values once the vehicle reaches the second-hand market.

In reality the CLC is a face-lifted and improved version of the outgoing C-Class Sports Coupe, and will sit below the larger CL and CLK coupe models.

Pricing consistent with that of its predecessor, together with a range of styling and specification enhancements, will ensure the CLC will retain a higher value after three years. Buyers will be getting a more sophisticated package for a very similar price, and as a second-hand offering the CLC is likely to be more appealing to user car buyers.

Visually it is more exciting with the addition of new headlamps and bumpers, both front and rear. A simplified and realigned model range will help the CLC attract a wider range of buyers, and will bring greater choice to the second-hand car market.

Residual values for the CLC will range from 37 per cent (CLC 350) to 42 per cent (CLC 200CDi) after the standard 3 years and 60,000 miles.
